Speaking at Microsoft Ignite 2016
|It’s less than a month away! Microsoft Ignite is going to be huge, as usual, and it’s going to be in Atlanta, GA. There is going to be so much going on, and I absolutely can’t wait to see you, all of my friends in the SharePoint community.
Here is some information about the three sessions that I’ll be presenting:
Get the most out of the new Microsoft SharePoint
BRK2041 – 75 minutes – Co-presented with Adam Harmetz, Group Program Manager, SharePoint, Microsoft
Wednesday, September 28 from 4:00pm – 5:15pm
B312 – B314
There is a lot of new functionality within Microsoft SharePoint team sites, alongside current capabilities. As a SharePoint user, join us for this session to learn how to get the most out of SharePoint. This session is going to show you how to use the new team sites, in your real world work and your business solutions.
Improve Efficiency with PowerApps for Startups
THR1038 – 20 minutes
Tuesday, September 27 from 2:10pm – 2:30pm
Expo Theater 3
When running a small business or even a small department in a big company, there are many tasks to take care of, including day-to-day business accounting and marketing. Often, there are not enough hours in the day, and startups typically have smaller, fairly mobile staffs. This session covers Microsoft’s new PowerApps, which allows for the easy integration of multiple line of business systems. Learn how to improve efficiency by automating your processes using a combination of PowerApps and Microsoft Flow. This session includes a demonstration of how to create a PowerApp as a timesheet system for projects, as well as a custom social media interface.
Build Business Solutions in Microsoft SharePoint
THR1037 – 20 minutes
THIS SESSION WILL BE DONE TWICE:
Monday, September 26, from 5:40pm – 6:00pm – NEW
Thursday, September 29 from 11:05am – 11:25am
MVP Hub Talk 1
The business often comes to IT or Power Users with requests for forms and workflows. The requirements-gathering process for building business solutions in Microsoft SharePoint is an important step to take before getting started with the technology. Laura Rogers discusses typical business expectations and questions that need to be asked, as well as best practices (and worst practices). Learn how to gather all of the relevant information, so that all enterprise business solutions will be successful.
One last TweetJam about Ignite:
“Our final pre-conference TweetJam will be held on Tuesday, September 13th at 1:00PM Pacific Time. The objective of this TweetJam is to generate excitement, equip attendees with the information they need to make the event successful and introduce the Microsoft Ignite host. Be sure to follow @MS_Ignite and use #msignite in your tweets. We look forward to your participation!”
Me at Ignite
Besides presenting these sessions, I’ll be around, most likely in the expo hall most of the time. I’ll be hanging out at the Harmon.ie booth, too, so stop by and say “hi”! Also, be sure to follow me and my SharePoint training company (@IWMentor) on twitter, and follow the #MSIgnite hashtag as well.
